The St. David's Emergency Center in Bastrop is a full-service freestanding emergency department that does not have attached inpatient facilities. This Emergency Center serves as an extension of the St. David’s South Austin Medical Center. St. David’s Emergency Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It features 10 multi-purpose exam rooms, including a trauma room, and is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians as well as trauma-certified nurses.
Seton Smithville Regional Hospital, located 13 miles east of Bastrop on Highway 71, is an acute care facility providing inpatient and outpatient services to Bastrop, Lee, Fayette and surrounding counties. Seton Smithville offers a comprehensive scope of services typically available only in large, urban hospitals. It is the mission of Seton Smithville Regional Hospital to promote the highest quality personalized healthcare, to be a strong community presence and to be the source for progressive diagnostic technology for the community.
In June 2013, Lone Star Circle of Care, a federally qualified health center, broke ground on a 25,000-square-foot, multi-service community health center in Bastrop. The project is a result of a one-time grant award of $5 million from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The new community health center, which is slated to open in summer 2014, will create access to quality, affordable primary care services for medically underserved residents of Bastrop and the surrounding area. Lone Star Circle of Care operates over 25 clinics throughout Central Texas. The Bastrop facility is now open and accepting new patients.
The Lost Pines Center for Cancer Care is focused on providing cutting edge cancer treatment in a comfortable setting. Until recently, the treatment they provide required a lengthy drive to San Antonio or Austin. The physicians and staff at the Cancer Center are committed to creating a treatment environment that is more comfortable than the typical medical office. The Lakeside Professional Building houses a variety of physicians, specialists, and medical related businesses, such as dermatology, cardiology, MRI and x-rays, and a medical laboratory.
